How Would You Like to Win Some ARCS? I've Got 7
So, I have a few ARCs....

Um, a lot, actually.

I was going to hang on to them until I made 500 blog friends, but after some complaints that I've been teasing you with my reviews for ARCs that won't be out for a while, I thought maybe it was time to just hold a contest already. Why wait on arbitrary milestones, yeah? So here you go! I have 7 gorgeous ARCs for you.

Note that MATCHED is signed. I know, right? I wanted to keep it for myself (OMG, it's SIGNED!), especially because Ally was one of the nicest authors I've ever met, and like the other books in this pile, I was blown away by it. But I believe in small acts of mercy, random acts of kindness...that bit. Seriously. Why hog something so beautiful to myself? That goes for all the ARCs here.

The only thing I ask with these ARCs? If you win, be sure to give them a review, okay? Authors really want to know what you think of their books--especially if you love a book, make sure you let others know. It's a tough business, folks. Authors have to do a lot of marketing themselves now. And when your time comes, you'll want others to do the same for you. Plus, that's the point of an ARC--to spread the word about an upcoming release. Goodreads is a great place to start. I'll be writing up a review for every one of these books shortly. But just so you know, every single one of them is amazing.

Writing a book.....

IN A MONTH!!!!

I dont know what possessed me to decide to do this. Wait, yes I do! You! You, my dear readers, you possessed me to write this book in a month! Well, maybe not exactly, but pretty close!
Anyway, it is day 16 of my journey and I am losing my mind. I have never before pushed myself to finish a book this fast. I know that most of my favorite authors can whip out a book in a week. Others, 3 to 4 months. Granted, I am not aiming for a fully edited, ready to go manuscript. I want to be able to finish the first draft. Yet, I cannot believe how many obstacles keep coming my way! From work conflicts to sickness, every thing seemed to snowball on me this month. Is it because I set out to do the impossible? Absolutely.
However, you know what the greatest lesson I have learned from this? I am not a quitter. Yes, I knew that from my previous experiences, however, I always considered myself a go with the flow kind of a writer. Yet, here I find myself pushing for the unattainable. Can I do it? I honestly have no idea. What I do know, is that at the end of the 30 days I will be able to look back and say that I did my best. Isnt that all we really can do?
I challenge you, my dearest readers, to find a goal and reach for it. Someone once said, "Shoot for the moon. If you miss, at least you made it to the stars."
I challenge you, in the next 30 days to shoot for the moon. The stars are really beautiful.

"Riley Bloom left her sister, Ever, in the world of the living and crossed the bridge into the afterlife—a place called Here, where time is always Now. They let her in on a secret—the afterlife isn't just an eternity of leisure; Riley has to work. She's been assigned a job, Soul Catcher, and a teacher, Bodhi, a curious boy she can't quite figure out.

Journey Day 4

Four days ago I decided that I would finish my sequel in a month. Four days later, I can see how it can actually happen. Today my goal is to write 9000 words! I have never measured my writing by the amount of words I write per day so this is something new. However, I have noticed how often we, as people in general, forget to set goals for ourselves. Many go through life without any milestones to celebrate. I have decided that by week three I will have written 90% of my book and I will celebrate! Right before diving in and finishing the last 10% of course.

I love everything about writing. There seems to be that pull when you sit down in front of your computer or notebook and start to write. Its amazing how much that world becomes your own. Day two, I was naming my characters and I just realized that I was naming my kids! These characters grow up and develop because of my care and guidance. Its just like raising children! Granted, sometimes you wish your children would listen to you the way your characters do, but in the end you are the one leading them to a better life. I'm still amazed everyday that I have the privilege to write. English is my second language and it astonishes me how much I have grown as a writer. Large part of that goes to all the wonderful authors I have read. Big thumbs up to all those that are willing to share their words with the world and use the privilege given to them.

So, this is day four. Today, I write my character story sketches and snapshots. I'm taking those steps and in 26 days, I will have that manuscript completed! A dream is always worth pursuing.
